how bmc approached our team to conduct research and uncover signature features for a new it enterprise product.
vision work
This project started as vision work for a new product that BMC would later introduce as TrueSight Intelligence. After running a competitive analysis on similar products and conducting several user interviews, we were able to identifying user needs and develop use cases. This research was the driving force that led to the creation of eleven well-defined signature features that were validated through concept value testing.

design execution
The final delivery of the vision work led to BMC requesting our help in the overall design of TrueSight Intelligence, which is a cloud-based big data analytics platform. TSI collects and analyzes both IT and business data from virtually any source which presents users with a holistic view of their company.
The complex problems needing solved were designing the look and feel of each area of the product that kept consistent with the BMC brand, developing features and elements that solved an ongoing list of use cases, and ensuring usability throughout the product with bi-weekly user testing.
One of the biggest design challenges was exploring how to display a vast amount of data when scaling up in a contextual, yet easily digestible manner to enable faster root cause analysis and decision making. The final solution for the initial release of TrueSight Intelligence showcases a wealth of data into digestible elements, all grounded in user testing.
