elevating an existing physical product through updated packaging, messaging, and
ad campaign.

This project was to add value to a product through packaging and marketing strategies. The Misfit Flash is an affordable fitness device with a stylish design to look like a modern wrist watch. Misfit offers quality products so I wanted my package to exude that quality that I feel the current package lacks.

This design increases value through an elegant and classy approach in a serious, yet playful manner. The package is very minimalistic with white stroked illustrations and dynamic type. The type used is a thin, elegant san serif that is bold without feeling heavy.

One of the most eye-catching features of the new design is the clear enclosure letting you see the product before you buy, rather than a picture on a box which is what their current package displays. The playful side of this design is displayed on the front view of the package by representing a tuxedo. The Misfit logo is incorporated by implying a bow-tie and the Flash watch face as the head of the body. The subtle interaction between product and package strengthens the overall design by solidifying both as one piece working together.

The video below is an ad I designed, directed, shot, and edited. It further reinforces the updated Flash packaging of having an elegant and classy look while still keeping a sense of humor.
