communicating interaction patterns to engineering through animated prototypes
The purpose of these UI animations is to better communicate to development the motion and delight we should be providing to our users. By having UI elements react to user interaction, it better communicates the transition between states, as well as keeps them in context within our interfaces.
Engaging interactions not only provides delight to our users, it also reduces their perception of time. For example, the first animation is walking the user through the steps to correctly set up a cart to pick several orders. By adding entertainment to that simple process, it alleviates some of the tediousness that may come with cart setup.
These prototypes were also used as sales and marketing collateral for mobe3 WMS.
